SPEAK ABOUT NO EVIL

IF THIS STORY DOESN’T GET YOU MAD ENOUGH TO PROTEST, NOTHING WILL! ANYONE OKAY WITH SENDING CHILDREN TO SCHOOLS RUN BY EDUCRAT$ TAKING THE POSITION, “ANOTHER COLUMBINE? NO BIG DEAL,” IS PROBABLY TOO BUSY FINDING CHILDREN TO EXPLOIT AND WILL END UP ON DATELINE’S SEXUAL PREDATOR SHOW SINCE THESE CAVALIER ATTITUDES TOWARD CHILDREN ARE ABOUT ON THE SAME PAR. LITTLE IS MORE DISGUSTING THAN PUTTING POLITICS OVER CHILDREN WHO ARE IN HARM’S WAY TO THIS EXTENT. FURTHERMORE, NOTE WHAT THE COLUMBINE PARENT HAD TO SAY. HE IS CORRECT; CHILDREN NEED TEACHERS LIKE THIS PERSON AFRAID TO SPEAK. NAPTA

I am a 33 year veteran classroom teacher who has worked as an Administrative Assistant for Discipline at a high school for the past 13 years. I am a former, "Teacher of the Year" at my school, former PTA President, past Faculty Council President and I received my school's yearbook dedication in 1991.

In December of 2002, a student told me of other young people selling numerous high-powered weapons, including M-16 and AK -47 assault rifles. I immediately contacted the Police Department and my supervisor. Over the next 4 days, 5 young people were arrested for selling weapons, 4 of these young people were students at my school. Over 112 guns were taken from the apartment of one of our students.

However, one week later, I was formally notified that I was under criminal investigation for "Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Involving Firearms." A formal investigation was undertaken by the School Police and I was accused of telling a student to bring guns to school and the following 2 allegations against me led to a "Recommendation of Termination." 1. that I use informants 2. that I failed to tell my supervisor of the original information which I had received about students selling guns.

It is my belief that because School Police were by-passed (a decision made by my supervisor at the time of the original call concerning the weapons) and the local Police were called, I was made the scapegoat for the School Police. I also believe that our school police officer, who I previously found to be extremely unprofessional, led school police into this trumped-up investigation to, "teach me a lesson."

After numerous calls to school board members, principals, mayors and other high profile members of our community, the Recommendation for Termination was reduced to a written reprimand. I signed a statement stating that I received the Notification of Reprimand but added to my signature that "I did not agree with the contents of this memorandum." I was told by an Assistant Superintendent, who handed me the reprimand that this reprimand had to be issued because the school police said I did it.

The initial School Police Investigative report of me contained numerous falsehoods, misstatements, innuendo, omissions and outright lies. Documentation to this was produced at my Conference-for-the Record, but to no avail. School Police said, "Mr. X did it!” There is presently a civil suit filed against the school district and the School Police Department. Our local CBS affiliate carried a 7 minute investigative piece on my school gun case. I don't know that I will ever feel the same way about public Education. What the "system" tried to do to a dedicated teacher is beyond my comprehension. I can now see how perfectly innocent people can wind up in prison often having to rely on a Public Defender working numerous cases at the same time. I, on the other hand, had the resources of the teachers’ union. I also had the full support of my school's principal, which, I might add, my union told me was a rare occurrence.

Teacher Who Learned: Silence is Survival

The story above has been posted anonymously for several years. Here is an update from him showing how little justice there is for teachers:

They dropped the criminal investigation and then I faced an administrative investigation which at first resulted in an Assistant Superintendent recommending my, "Termination". A bunch of people, including the School Board Chair came to my defense and the termination was reduced to a "Written Reprimand" to which I still objected. I then proceeded, with the help of an attorney from the Florida Education Association, to initiate a civil damage suit again the District. We were about to begin depositions when the school board's attorney sent me an "Offer of Settlement" in which they offered me $1,000.00 to settle out of court and ALSO notified me that if I refused to "settle" and made them go to court and I lost, they would hold me responsible for all court costs AND THEIR LEGAL FEES!!!

Now that this teacher has retired, after having accepted a settlement that was barely 4 figures before he taught a few more years, he has given us permission to use his name as well as this tell-all You Tube video that shows the local Florida news reporting what they have yet to label White Chalk Crime. Listen to how another teacher states that no teachers want to report anything after seeing what happened to Ed Cobin. His story proves that White Chalk Crime silences the truth, while exposing children and teachers to harm. Soon he will have a book that will describe this outrage in detail. Be sure to watch this video and read his story below. You will see how teachers' hands are tied and why they need parents to learn about White Chalk Crime and demand that it ends. The years have only strengthened our position. NAPTA

COLUMBINE PARENT RESPONSE TO AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS TEACHER

A Columbine parent, Randy Brown, wrote an editorial in response to an article referring to this very teacher who had reported guns in his school and was then crucified for doing so, saying he was punished for “stopping a ‘Columbine’ Repeat.” Brown pointed out the need for heroes, as did the author of The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil, © 2007, Philip Zimbardo, whose recipe for combating evil is finding heroes. Yet, since EducRAT$ destroy hero-like teachers, schools are havens for crime. Below is an excerpt from this Columbine parent's letter:

As a Columbine parent I want to tell all of you that you should be thanking this man every day. It is true that the disclosure of the gun sales is very important, but that is not the main reason you should be grateful. You should thank him because he is the kind of teacher that students will talk to. He is a contact. He is trusted. He relates to them. He cares. Teachers like this are the first line of defense against school violence. This is, in truth, the most important factor in preventing school violence. There was, and I know this to be true, not one teacher at Columbine High School who was a possible source of such information. That is one of the main causes of the Columbine tragedy. There are thousands of families in Littleton who would have given anything to have a teacher like [him] in the school in 1998. He could have prevented Columbine. It is my hope that you appreciate and thank this man for his accomplishment. It is very possible that some of your children are alive today because of his actions. As someone involved in the Columbine tragedy, I can assure you that you owe this man, and teachers like him, a great deal more than you know. You have a hero in your midst. You should let him know that you appreciate his efforts. You should let him know, and all other teachers and administrators like him, that they are appreciated, that they are heroes. Randy Brown, Littleton, CO

A telling excerpt from the article that had lamented about how this teacher became the target of abuse for having reported these guns and that had generated Brown’s response was: “The real lesson here is that once a process like this gets started [in Education], it takes a hell of a lot to stop it. The system [Education] is set up to protect the system, not its people – and certainly not truth or justice.” Certainly this says that protecting evil is the agenda in Education and thus “a hell of a lot” is needed to stop this. Thus, while Zimbardo and this parent identified heroes as the antidote for evil, EducRAT$ have identified heroes as their archenemies, and the courts have looked away.
