SURVEY REPORT
SCHOOL PRINCIPAL MISTREATMENT OF TEACHERS
Last year NAPTA was invited to participate in a research survey titled: School Principal Mistreatment of Teachers. The survey was conducted by Professors Joseph Blase and Jo Blase of the Program of Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia (850 College Station Road, Athens, GA 30602; tel. 706 613-8226; e-mail jblase@coe.uga.edu.) Data was collected on this website for several months in 2006. The purpose of this research was to describe teachers' mistreatment experiences with principals, including behaviors and effects of such mistreatment. It is hoped that the information gathered from this study will help future teachers and administrators in their work toward school improvement.A summary of the data analysis and a review of the literature with interpretation is now available. You will not see the tables and figures, which make great visuals, but those will come out with the formal publication, almost in the review stage. It takes a while to get these things formally published. There were some 300 responses, more than enough for a study of this kind and more analysis could be done in the future.
