More Bullying in New Jersey
Just in case you thought that the teacher bullying in NJ was limited to Chris Christie speaking hostilely to teacher, read this story. NAPTA
I am an abused teacher who was so traumatized by my principal that I developed post traumatic stress disorder. Six months after leaving school, I still take 5 different psych meds daily, and see 2 psychologists as well as my psychiatrist.
After receiving no reply from the district, to which I submitted a letter outlining the bullying that had occurred; and no action on the part of my union, I was forced to hire my own hostile work environment attorney at my own expense. The district was thus forced to respond, and began an investigation in June which is still ongoing. Because of these events, I filed for my retirement since I was not able to receive any disability income--my school district does not provide any disability benefits.
This principal has left a long trail of victims in the 6 schools she has been transferred to in our school district. She has permanently damaged me, and robbed me of both another 3 years of working, as well as a joyful retirement from a job I loved.
Recently, I read a book about sociopaths, and realized that I had been the victim of one--my principal. I cannot believe that such wrong is allowed to thrive, and innocent hardworking teachers to suffer and lose their lives' calling.
